Cult Creative is on a mission to disrupt how creatives get work.

Every day we come together for a vision that we believe in our members, our community, and a movement that revolves around the creatives in Malaysia, that the Cult Creative app will be the product that solves inefficiencies of the creative industry. 

 

We stay grounded in our values that creatives are essential to the workforce, everyone has creativity in them, and we're able to smash long-standing stereotypes about creatives.

OUR STORY

The co-founders of Cult Creative have a collective of over three decades of experience in the creative industry.

Chief Executive Officer Shermaine Wong (middle) worked over 10 years in branding, communication, and marketing, and is in the “Business of Experience”.

 

Chief Marketing Officer, Manisha Jagan (right) has run her own talent and artist management agency, MTalent Asia (MTA) from early 2015.

 

Editorial Director, Lina Esa (left) has been in publishing since 2010, and she was the former Editor of CLEO Malaysia.

Our Journey

Cult Creative was materialised during the Movement Control Order (MCO) in Malaysia in March 2020, when Tish Events pivoted to create content on Instagram.

The Cult Creative professional networking platform is for future-focused creative professionals to connect with like-minded peers and industry leaders to learn, grow, and thrive together.

As we started to get traction and support from our creative peers via virtual experiences, we decided that there was opportunity to expand this to a creative collective for the future.

The Cult Founders

The co-founders of Cult Creative have a collective of over three decades of experience in the creative industry.

Shermaine Wong

Chief Executive Officer Shermaine Wong (middle) has worked for over 10 years in branding, communication, and marketing, and is in the “Business of Experience”. With her current event company, Tish Events, she has worked with several global luxury, fashion, and beauty lifestyle brands like Cartier, H&M, Sulwhasoo, Walt Disney Studios, Procter & Gamble, and Airbnb, to create stylish yet immersive brand experiences with emotional values that connect with the audience. 

Manisha Jagan

Chief Marketing Officer, Manisha Jagan (left) has run her own talent and artist management agency, MTalent Asia (MTA) from early 2015. Prior to that, she ventured independently as a talent herself by exploring opportunities as a model, poet, voiceover talent, emcee and pageant finalist. Her passion for the industry came with a set of professional skills from the tech and finance industry, followed by her trailblazing clientele in the music scene such as Aina Abdul, Kyoto Protocol, Q Sound, Kavin Jay and more.

Lina Esa

Editorial Director, Lina Esa (right) has been in publishing since 2010, and she was the former Editor of CLEO Malaysia. She had always had a passion for featuring local, young creatives who were making a mark (and she worked on a daily basis with writers, photographers, videographers, graphic designers and the like), so she knew that there was something to be made in a community for creatives. She envisions Cult Creative as a collective of individuals who come together to share a space with each other to be empowered, learn, network and grow.
