Art Director
At Ink, we produce award-winning travel magazines, inspirational content hubs and videos with a difference, so it’s vital that the candidate be a confident self-starter.
They must be organised; willing to work as part of a small team; and ready to bring
fresh ideas.
It’s also important that the candidate be accustomed to striving for excellence. We want someone who is inspired by producing beautiful print magazines, social content and graphics and has their finger on the pulse of current design trends. They must be both creative and collaborative, and feel confident working on projects from the ground up. Organisational skills are a must, as is the willingness to work as part of a small, adaptable team and learn.
Responsibilities
Day-to-day design of multiple magazines, assisting with photo shoots and commissioning artwork.
Producing social content across multiple brands and platforms
Working with editors and photo editors in the planning and production of the content.
Preparing files for print.
Image researching.
Adhering to tight deadlines.
Ensuring that the work is of the highest standard.
Helping to commissioning illustrations and photography and helping to set briefs.
Understanding the brands and working to style.
Oversee layouts and design direction for Ink’s inflight magazines for Malaysia Airlines, Cebu Pacific and others, as well as our digital channels including SilverKris.com
Must-haves
A degree in graphic design or equivalent.
At least five years working as a graphic designer at a publisher or creative agency.
Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
A portfolio showing a high degree of creative ability.
A passion for magazine and digital design.
A knowledge of current trends in photography and illustration and web and magazine design.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
